Linear Micro-StagesPI linear ultrasonic drives consist of a piezoelectric oscillator made from a rectangular piezoelectric plate upon which are mounted one, two or more frictional elements. Due to electrical excitation of the actuator, each friction tip installed on it moves along an elliptical trajectory, transmitting pushing forces to a friction bar on the moving portion of the translation stage.

Piezo NanoScanning & Positioning Stages (Nanomechanisms)

PI Piezo Positioning and Scanning Stages are the fastest and highest precision nanopositioning stages available. They boast a parallel-kinematics design with integrated noncontact capacitive sensors in a parallel-metrology configuration. This ensures the highest scanning linearity and lowest out-of-plane motion.
Capacitive feedback sensors are direct measuring devices and provide higher resolution and linearity than any other commerically available sensor. They are also less sensitive to EMI than most other sensors.
