PI has represented excellence in micropositioning products, especially in piezoelectric nanopositioning technology, for more than 30 years. PI currently employs over 200 people in Germany and together with sister company Polytec and the international subsidiaries
more than 500 world-wide, many of whom hold advanced degrees in physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science. The heart of PI is the R & D department where more than 20% of our employees work. Together with our expanding international sales network, PI can satisfy almost any requirement in the field of innovative nanopositioning, assuring stable, longterm relationships with our customers. PI has wholly-owned subsidiaries in the US, Japan, Germany, England, France and Italy, plus a network of distributors in the rest of Europe and the Pacific Rim. PI develops and builds all nanopositioning systems at its headquarters in Waldbronn, Germany. The ISO 9001 certified subsidiary, PI Ceramic, manufactures piezo & dielectric ceramics. |

Commercial customers include manufacturers of semiconductors, semiconductor inspection systems, hard disk drives, medical analytical equipment, fiber-optic products, aerospace equipment, laser systems, optical inspection systems, precision machining equipment etc. Leading universities and government funded research facilities such as national laboratories, national bureaus of standards, and technical institutes all over the world use PI products.
PI products can be found in semiconductor manufacturing machines, mass storage test & production equipment, lasers, machine tools, innovative medical diagnostics systems, on mountain tops (adaptive optics in astronomical telescopes) in airborne laboratories and satellites and at sea (fiber optic cable installation).
