Enhanced throughput in automated alignment processes

Optimization of an analog figure of merit (FoM), such as optical power transmission or a representation of a calculated measure such as Modulation Transfer Function (MTF), can be executed simultaneously across multiple axes.

The functionality is built into the firmware of the controller which allows fastest execution and best integration into testing or production processes. The lengthy serial motion sequences formerly required are eliminated, the entire process time is drastically reduced.

The number of parallel optimizations possible in a system depends on factors such as the FoM bandwidth, load, and overall positioning bandwidth. Typical configurations can perform XY & angular optimization processes simultaneously. For maximum parallel execution capability, speed, and tracking, add a piezo flexure nanopositioning subsystem such as a P-611 NanoCube®. Consult with a PI applications engineer for guidance and advice.

Scope of delivery / System configuration / Installation requirements

Available for hexapod mechanics H-811.F2 and H-811.I2 in combination with a C-887 hexapod controller that features a high-resolution analog input. Installation is done by a PI service engineer in a remote session. Contact will be established by PI after purchase.

Optimized fast multi-channel photonics alignment systems available
