Guidelines for Design, Construction, Production and Qualification

Integrated Management System (IMS)

The PI Group aims to apply the same high quality, safety, and environmental protection standards at every location in the world. The Integrated Management System (IMS) reflects this commitment. PI combines all quality management, environmental management as well as occupational and health management methods and strategies into a uniform organizational structure.

PI commits itself to comply with the specifications of the international standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001. Compliance with the requirements is documented, checked, and monitored in the IMS. By utilizing synergies, the IMS helps to efficiently and continuously improve the processes, products and services of the PI Group.

The quality management (QM) at PI takes care of quality assurance internally, carries out audits, and checks process reliability. QM also takes care of special quality requirements from customers.

Regulations for Using Hazardous Material

Implementation of the RoHS Guideline at PI

The EU Directive for restricting the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, better known as "Restriction of Hazardous Substances" (RoHS) was transposed into German law by the Elektro- und Elektronikgeräte-Stoff-Verordnung (Ordinance on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment). The objective of this law is environmental and health protection.

Product Certification

PI carries out tests for checking the implementation of the applicable guidelines both internally and externally.

External certification includes for example, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)

On customer request, further certification can be carried out by third parties if for example, CSA certification is required for exporting overseas.

CIPA Certification

The lobby association of the Japanese photographic industry Camera & Imaging Products Association (CIPA) sets standards for motion systems that are used in test equipment for image stabilization. Hexapods from PI are the only six-axis positioning system for the simulation of camera shake during photographing that fulfill the requirements of the CIPA standard.
