CNC Machinist Setup/Operator

Role Overview

PI has an immediate opening for an experienced full-time CNC Machinist Setup/Operator in our world-class machining and grinding facility. This position involves reading blueprints, programming in MasterCAM, executing operations per routings, setting up and operating machines that may include Haas CNC Mills and Lathes and manual equipment or processes at a higher challenging level of precision machining work. This position is based in Nashua, NH. The facility will be moving to Shrewsbury, MA in 2025.


What You Will Do: 

  • Ability to setup and run CNC mills and lathes (HAAS preferred).
  • Apprentice or technical schooling for precision machine shop experience (CNC or Manual).
  • Ability to read engineering drawings (blueprint reading).
  • Understanding of GD&T (geometric dimensioning & tolerancing).
  • Knowledge of G&M codes used in CNC programming process.
  • Ability to make adjustments with MDI at CNC machine tool control.
  • Ability to properly use common inspection equipment.
  • Employment is dependent on the results of an initial drug test, background check, and motor vehicle report (if applicable to the position).
  • Daily work responsibilities will include running parts on Haas CNC mills and lathes including 4 and 4 axis milling and lathe live tooling.
  • Quantity is from single piece prototypes to low volume production. 
  • Candidate is also responsible for performing in-process and final inspection on those parts and verifying they meet all print tolerances and specifications.
  • Ability to operate independently and go from print to part is a must.
  • Prefer individual with experience in precision machining using Haas CNC mills and lathes. Programming experience with MasterCAM is a plus.
