Lever Hexapods
Precise Lever Mechanism for Dynamic and Durable 6-Axis Positioning
Our innovative lever hexapod combines robust roller bearings with direct power transmission, eliminating the need for a screw drive, for example. The result is a compact system that offers exceptional durability and maximum dynamics. High-precision displacement of the base point of each hexapod strut along a circular path enables targeted, micrometer-precise changes to the pose of the cover plate within a millimeter workspace. Compared to classic hexapod systems, where leg length is adjusted via a screw drive, lever kinematics enable significantly faster movements with a flatter design.

High Dynamics and Precision
Direct power transmission enables highly dynamic and precise movements. At the same time, velocity and workspace are easily scalable.
Less Drift, Better Repeatability

Less Drift, Better Repeatability
The motors are positioned deep inside the hexapod structure, ensuring that the heat sources are not in direct proximity to the lever arms and passive struts. This minimizes thermal influences, achieving outstanding repeatability even in the most demanding applications.

The lever principle, with the drives mounted deep within the hexapod’s kinematic system, allows for precise and dynamic 6‑axis positioning in a compact and flat installation space. This results in high thermal stability and a long service life.

Lever Mechanics: Today’s Technology, Tomorrow’s Potential
Two more variants are currently under development, and one system has been extensively qualified: a variant with stepper motors for space applications, a variant with a piezo drive for low-temperature applications, and a variant for industrial applications. Furthermore, our development team is working on an integrated safety brake to ensure system safety even in the event of a power supply failure. In the future, our lever hexapods will be suitable for a wide range of applications, such as alignment and packaging in photonics. Due to direct power transmission and improved heat dissipation, they are ideally suited for use in cleanrooms and vacuum environments.
